Ghost of Arlington

Post by minniev » Thu Mar 14, 2019 6:16 pm

This house, which was built in 1820 in Natchez and is on the National Historic Register, suffered a fire 20 years ago. The owner, a local doctor, took the insurance and abandoned it. The city went to court to be allowed to replace the roof to prevent total collapse while they attempted to work with the owner, but in spite of various difference approaches, both carrot and stick, the owner has held out to do nothing. So it sits, in this condition, in the middle of the historic district.

I attempted a faded, old-ish look to hide the ugliness just a bit and also to do homage to its age, but I didn't try to clone out the grafitti or trash. All suggestions always appreciated.

Thanks Frank. A lot of these old structures are good elements or backgrounds for creative stuff later. An agonized Southern Belle or a few civil war soldiers might work out here, or possibly a Bengal tiger lounging on the porch.
