It saddens me to forward the news that our good friend and fellow photographer, Matt Quinn, has passed. As some of you may know, he had been battling cancer for a while and was on his way to recovery. Please take a moment to remember him in your prayers. |

Old Mill Two Ways
This old mill was a building I've passed a thousand times and hardly noticed until Steve was here, and he saw its potential. It was also fraught with challenges due to the ugly security fencing and proximity to the highway. I hope he'll look at his when he gets home, and see if he has any to add.
I tried this two ways, both slightly fanciful.

I think they are both great, very well done. I think I prefer the first, maybe because I cannot tell what it is at a glance. My first thought was, "prison."

All the great photographers use cameras! No, really.

I like that first also - like em both, but that first.. something about the shapes and the vines. I would crop out the circular roof vent thing though I like it from a compositional point of view -- LOL replace it with a gargoyle.

Well, a gargoyle would definitely have more interest than that shiny round thing. I'm not sure how I might proceed, but I do have some impressive gargoyles I snapped on my trip to Holland a few years back...PietFrancke wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2018 8:10 pmI like that first also - like em both, but that first.. something about the shapes and the vines. I suspect it was a millhouse, but whatever it was it was intriguing enough to stop for and a good memory with a better friend! S-
