The Goss Opera House – Historic Uptown Watertown

While having dinner with friends I had a chance to take a quick image of the Opera House. S-
- this is straight out of my cell phone

Sweet. Love that piano on the stage.

What a great find, Steve! Below is an idea for different viewpoint: more intimate, with anticipation of the performer's arrival - though to an empty house, I guess - :D

A tiny bit of levels and exposure adjustment, plus underpainting - all in befunky on the Chromebook, so I didn't have layers or masks to work with. Sharpening, brightening the piano top, and reducing that white light would be beneficial, I think.

Nice shot of a nice venue. Love the peephole in the curtain that lets us see the piano, and the alcoves of the upper balcony. Hope you got some exterior shots too! Glad you left it warm instead of correcting the WB to counteract what's there, it has more mood just like this.

Looks as though the stage is all set, now I'm waiting for the 'piano man', who ever that may be !!! Elton, Billy Joel, or maybe Stevie. The tone/color balance, lighting and, oh yes, that piano are all fabulous elements. Nice Steve.

I don't usually post images straight out of the camera but I'm glad you liked it. I love your crop and suggestions too. Thank you for that! S-

It was a spur of the moment shot. I was pretty amazed how it looked untouched, but will be happy to play with it too.

The building would make for an amazing photography class and I think I could shoot it for a week and want more, but with an hour before I needed to start to the airport I stopped by at lunch and asked if I could take some photos. They said yes and I had at it. Sadly the opera house was being prepped for a wedding.

And sadly I only have the one exterior. Thank you again! S-

Thank you so much. We stopped in upstairs on the way out and the pianist was singing about something about being in a canoe. It was amazing! S-
