From the Porch Swing

Post by minniev »

On my other 52 group, the theme this week was Movement. I tried several things including the thing I posted in Photography discussion. This is the one I posted to my other group, it was shot from the porch swing looking directly to my right, out into the yard where the canna lilies are starting to bloom, as I went back and forth. I thought it was interesting to see how the swing’s movement was captured.

Pretty smooth and even for a sweep photo. No bumps or jumps. Well done. Matt

I was surprised. I expected worse with the back and forth movement of the swing.

the colors are fantastic - just woke up from a dream where I was wandering around lost.

It was interesting to me how the back and forth of the swing created a tunnel effect in the middle. I'm sure I'll keep trying this. I spend plenty of time in that old swing, so I might as well experiment...

minniev I find this quite exciting, one clutches the edges to retain reality, but still wanting the other world feeling of the movement. Thanks RBorud

Thank you Mr. Borud, an apt description and I'm so pleased that you like it. Off in the confusing circular blur stands a short stone St Francis, some elephant ears and a clump of canna lilies. I may try this weekend to get a smidgen more detail in those.

I like how the canna lilies look like dry leaves falling to the floor. Keep at this, and try forward too! S-
