It saddens me to forward the news that our good friend and fellow photographer, Matt Quinn, has passed. As some of you may know, he had been battling cancer for a while and was on his way to recovery. Please take a moment to remember him in your prayers. |

Re: "Ferry Project"
Quick trip over to Everett, WA on Christmas Eve. On the way home it started snowing and took forever to get home. 5inchs of snow in the Olympic Peninsula Valley a wonderful White Christmas.
Today is the Day, a New Day.

These are never, ever boring. On this page I'm especially drawn to the picture of the stack. No idea why.

I like this one a lot for its minimalism and for its familiarity. Actually I think the last time I took the Coho was in July of 2004. Wanta come back that way...Ernst-Ulrich Schafer wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2017 5:30 amAn image from the archives taken on the Coho Ferry which runs from Port Angeleeeeeees to Victoria BC. Thank you Ernst. Stunning photos again. A question; for the lady w/umbrella, who might know you are taking her photo, do you show it to her on your screen? The guy with the phone is in his own world a world away beyond the wall barrier so you are not in the same "space," but you were sharing the same air with the young woman. So, I am curious how you handle this situation which seemed almost a moment of contemplation on her part. Thanks.
Happy New Year.
Matt

Hi Matt, Thanks for the comments and question. As I walked by this lady we did say hi to each other and she was enjoying the music of the windy that was being created. She actually stood there for quite sometime as I myself was walking around the ferry many times. I think she did know I was taking a photograph but she never glanced my way. And no I didn't share my image with her. Sometimes I do share an image with someone and sometimes I don't.
Here is another image for this trip.

Yesterday's visit to Seattle and a visit to the doctors office for Donna. Of course I had to walk the ferry.
