Fishing At the Dam

Post by minniev » Tue Apr 30, 2019 4:20 pm

What do I need to do here? I'm happy with the conversion, and there was no other way to shoot it, but other kinds of cropping or other kinds of processing??

I think it's fine as is, really nice catch minniev...it seems you may be looking for ideas so I would consider cropping up from the bottom to almost the first line of foam, cloning out the little puff on the right...for me a touch more contrast with some possible brightness added to the two fishers for a slight bit of attention, the back one being a slight bit brighter than the front one..

Interesting photo. What immediately came to my mind was I sure don't want to eat what comes out of that water.

Thank you Mike!

Lots of fishermen both two legged and feathered eat what they catch down here, it is the most crowded waterway we have for fishermen. I've seen some strange fish pulled out of there! My youngest son nearly drowned there when he was 10 bringing in a 20 pound gaspargoule. No one who wasn't starving would eat that thing so I had it stuffed to remind him about considering risks before taking off on unchartered grounds (or waters).

Thanks Frank. I will give that a try!

Had to look up the name of the fish. Interesting. My concern about eating the fish was what chemicals would be causing the foam on the water.

Mostly it is the intense pressure/volume of the water coming out of the release chutes since the heavy spring rains. There's also stuff going in, I'm sure, including whatever pesticide they are using to get rid of the invasive salvinia that's made a real mess on the lake.

Hi MMinnie,

I am getting a real education reading this post. Checked out and learned about Salvinia. :-)
