Fisgard Light

Post by minniev » Fri Aug 03, 2018 7:37 pm

One of the disappointments of my trip was that we had no clouds, just bright unbridled sun from 4 am to 10 pm every day. My only reprieve was the fog on the water. The expanse of sky is not a photographic favorite of mine, but the viewpoint was nice. Would you change skies if you were me? Or leave this one as is? Any other recommendations appreciated, too.

I would not...I think it is a great image....as a side note, whatever work you did around the light house is showing..

Thanks. I didn't do any brush work - maybe some bright haloing from sharpening? What're you seeing?

Yes there is haloing right side....but also a bright spot left. Barely noticeable from thumbnail but I did notice..take the thumbnail into Ps add an exposure layer and drag the offset slider all the way left and you will see the bright spot...I have been told I have a few million extra rods in my eyes so may be why I noticed and then went and looked.

I'm not understanding your question, "but what is it?"
It's your lighthouse image... I just reworked it. Made it into a 3D isometric tile. Is this a trick question? (?)

A 3D isometric tile, huh? Might as well be writing in sanskrit. What did you use to make such a thing? No tricks, just haven't seen such and have no idea what to call it. I recognize the image but not the result! Thanks for showing a cool "thing" even if I don't understand it!

I like it very much. I would be very tempted to add clouds, but I think it might be a mistake. I would be concerned that lovely fluffy clouds might draw attention away from the lighthouse. The only way to find out is to try it. It looks like it would be an easy cutout. I do see the very, very slight haloing on the surface of the sea just to the right of the light tower. Now that I see it I can't unsee it. I like Duck's isometric tile! :D

(I prefer to present pictures in albums because I can put them in specific order.)

All the great photographers use cameras! No, really. :|
