Interesting! The more I look the more intriguing it gets. I usually only comment on pictures that arrest me, make me stop, look again, study. For me it's got to grab me. This grabs me. A lovely child somewhat awkwardly climbing down the gnarly roots of a very strange tree. The light works well, and the shadows are right. The girl is not frightened, merely bemused and slightly curious to look up and find a camera on her. She has perhaps just been communing with this Hieronymus Bosch nightmare of a tree, but she appears completely unconcerned. The tree looks terrifying to us but to her it may be an old friend and mentor. Either the tree is not evil...or the girl is! BBbbbbWAAAHHHHahahahah! :D

:thumbup: Gets my vote, :thumbup: and as you know I am no fan of such treatments. ;)
There are no banal subjects in photography, but an infinite number of banal ways to illustrate them.

Thx for the input;
I make no secret to say that I am a novice at this and it is only for my own amusement.
I chose the scene first and knew where I wanted to place her, so I got her to put her rear foot on a stool and fired away using a white backdrop!!
Then prior to posting this I realised that her blend into the background was wrong. So I had to fix that up!
What a knucklehead!!
have fun

Ernst;
Nice of you to comment. Didn't think you would like this stuff.
In Sydney at the moment and due to weight I left all my gear in Filo, which is crushing as Sydney has the Vivid light festival on now.
Back to Filo next week. Set up lights and steal ideas from you. Isn't that nice.... :lol:

What an amazing background and such a unique treatment of the tree. This is well done and I appreciate you sharing this here! S-
