Mark Twain House 77 image HDR panorama

Postby LisaC » Tue Apr 21, 2015 3:15 am

77 image HDR panorama (11 verticals, 7 stops each) taken at the Mark Twain House. Photomatix to get each 7 to tonemapped, then Photoshop to get the 11 verticals into a panorama

Very nice Lisa! looks like the time and effort you put into getting this shot really paid off!
I visited there once, many years ago. Unfortunately, it was so long ago all I remember is having been there with my folks.

it looks fantastic but 77 images? how the heck did you keep the area clear long enough to get the shots? If you had the location to yourself for a clean shoot why HDR rather than lighting the scene to produce the tonal range needed?
I am not an HDR guy so I know next to nothing on the topic but it seems that 11 images each with a 7 stop spread would be more than is needed to get quality results?

Why you did it does not really matter to me. That you did it and it succeeded impresses me. A hell of a lot of work in that one final image. Must say it turned out nicely. Will LR6 manage this 8):
