Moonlit pier

Post by Duck » Fri Aug 24, 2018 5:08 am

My local camera store offers up occasional free shooting events for their meetup members. Tonight is was a sunset shoot at a local beach. As one of their instructors I made an appearance to help out. I also went for personal reasons... to take photos outside of my studio environment. Something I find lacking of late.

Here is my best shot of the evening. Enjoy.

Excellent use of foreground/middle and distance.
Was shot a pano or cropped?
Kind regards;

Thanks. This was slightly cropped to a 16:9 aspect ratio. The pier is as shot. The moon was higher in the sky so I repositioned it in Photoshop.

Duck;
You got it wrong. I remember that night, I was standing next to you. That moon was precisely in that position as shown in photo.
Have fun;

Nice one. The dark pier and bright moon are balanced by the blues of the water. You should do more landscapes.

Thanks for backing me up, Ed. I didn't want to mislead anyone here with this image. Out in Facebookland, I could care less what they think, but here I want to respect people's intelligence. (Y)

Thanks Minnie. I do need to make time to get out more often for casual photography. Particularly street photography, which I really enjoy. It's just trying to find that balance between finding work and enjoying life. ;)
