Sometimes Clouds Aren't Just Sky Clutter..
Sometimes they actually can actually complement composition!
...as in this image of the great NW Arizona escarpment.

I was drawn to the scene by the leading lines of the dusty road ...and those unshod hoofprints of wild mustangs (that might go un-noticed without my mention thereof) and in the course of working the scene the clouds continued to gather from the NW and for a few moments they seemed a God-given gift by contributing to the lower-right trend of leading lines toward collective depth recession. The moment came...and passed...but not before a timely squeeze on the cable release!
Hot damn! Every once in a while it DOES all come together!

Really, really wonderful photograph. Things just came together at the right time.

Thanks, much, Bob! That's valued praise,,,and study of your cloudscapes and methods is an education in turning the odds more in the photographer's favor.when nebulous spectacles present!

Truly an excellent image Dave, with those sinuous leading lines in the clouds echoing the same lines in the road below. Great color, great detail, a real winner.

Hi, Min.
I'm glad you emphasize the specific complementary role of the clouds in the composition. That was what riveted my attention!
Many thanks for commenting.

Really stunning image! Somehow, especially the way the seem to follow the road, they almost look like spaceships hovering overhead.
