On the second picture; maybe what is troubling some of us with it is perhaps there is not enough mid tones. Either bring up the mid tones in foreground or sky? This will separate the two areas?

I wish I had written what Charles had. I see the image in a similar way; the light is stunning and the tones are superb. A revelation moment. Well done.

Thanks, Matt. My only regret in those two images is that I hadn't taken them in the same location. However, the one I tend to lean towards is the one with clouds.
