I really like to photograph clouds. They can be friendly, white and puffy one moment and dark and threatening the next. I was out driving in the country north of the city recently and came upon this scene with some nice cirrus clouds. I felt it would be very nicely rendered in infrared. Clouds look very nice against the false blue sky with the budding gold aspen trees below. The foreground is not covered in white snow, rather this is the false colour that the IR imagery and post-processing render the brown grass and other ground foliage.
Shot with my Canon 5D III with the 590nm conversion and a 24-105 lens. Processing was done in Lightroom and Nik's Viveza 2.
As usual, questions and comments welcome.
