Results would be better working from the Raw file allowing complete edit control and possibly avoiding detail loss completely if it was lost in post and not in exposure.

This is from the posted JPG

Frequency separation to repaint tone and clone detail, add a couple layers of dodge and burn and a high pass layer to enhance detail contrast

Naw it is more following instinct which tells me that the whole point of frequency seleration is the blending of tone while retaining detail. To that end one would paint tone on a blank layer linked to the Low Layer and Clone texture on a blank layer linked to the Hi Layer. The trick on an image such as this is that suitable sample areas are minimal at best. You need to pay attention to the shape and direction of the detail and clone in a similar / paralle path to keep things looking right. The use of the linked layer allows me to unlink it once the cloning is do e and the. Adust opactiy as needed to blend the cloned patches

Shine, I attempted to open both files but I got a 404 error. File is moved or deleted. This can occur because after posting the link you move or delete the file OR because your machine hasn't finished uploading the original yet.

So stupid ... I deleted it to make room for the raw which is on its way ... Do I have to start again or just replace them?
