What to do when the Fall Color fizzles? Please Fire for Effect.

Post by Bob Yankle »

I've been talking with a few folks who say the Fall Color in 2017 just isn't as exciting as it has been in the not-so-distant past. Warming and drought seem to be prevalent and no early frosts to get the ball rolling. The attached image is rather blah from an exposure point of view, but there seem to be enough different colors in there that a little vibrancy and targeted color boosts could work wonders. I'd like to put in the hands of you editors to watch you work your wonders. Please do whatever you would like to this image to make it a bit more interesting.

Using the image from the OP this is what I came up with in Lightroom. Cropped, with 2 radial filters and one grad filter (maybe a little too quick and dirty but it's small):

(I prefer to present pictures in albums because I can put them in specific order.)
There is no light like back light. No, really. :)

Yep, those are the colors I was thinking of. And you got the best crop for what there was to work with.

Man! The paint must have cost you a fortune! No, wait, it's digital ...... the paint is free, but the brush strokes take time. I like the look Duck.

Woah! It looks like bolts of colored lightning going through the trees. Pretty cool.
