After sunset

Post by Matt Quinn » Mon Oct 29, 2018 11:23 pm

Playing around. Nothing special. Wanted to get as dark as possible without flopping in the mud. Wanted smooth transitions between gradients since I noticed I have been too contrasty. Wanted better separation without sharp edges. Wanted DRAMA. As Mayor of NYC Koch used to ask, "How am I doing?" Any suggestions welcome. Thanks. Matt

Nice tonal control in that great sky. I wonder if some local raising of shadow in that darkest clump of tree branches/leaves would give some extra definition. I’d try a heavily feathered radial in LR and try and see.

not much to improve on here Matt so I'd say you are doing well......since you wanted your shot edited I tried to give it a more moonlit look than sunset..."how did I do?"

Thanks Minnie. Will give it as shot tomorrow after they blow my brains out with radiation. Matt

I like it, Frank, except that the middle section from the center to the right margin looks a bit flat to me, but that's nighttime, I guess. And I like the glow. How did you do all that? Thanks. More play in the offing torrow and following. Matt

Thanks Frank. I had forgotten local adjustments in LR and will take Minnie's suggestion about the radial brush and play. Matt
