Rainy Day in Gatineau Park - Genre?

Post by minniev » Tue Oct 24, 2017 8:57 pm

Another photo seeking the right genre. Should we do a thread where we all post homeless photos snd get feedback about others as to what category they fit into?

Shot in the dismal rain in Gatineau National Park in Quebec. All feedback appreciated, including edits.

This genre thing is a minefield, be careful of where you tread Minnie :D

Some would say that this was street, others landscape or scenic. Me? I would say it's a very pleasing picture with lots of interest, it's an eye catcher.

I agree with Graham,Minnnie, categorizing is a sometime useless exercise and a waste. Post where you want; I want to see what you see. Matt

Ooops. Forgot to mention that I really like this photo; dof is wonderful from the leaves at the bottom to the leaves at the top. Lovely, subtle leading lines; and the pop of umbrella color is a giggle and a chuckle. Nicely done. Matt

I see a fine image with no comment for improvement....I think most know my take on genre here.

I do love your poetry responses to my images Piet. If I ever try to do a book about the dam birds, I want you as a co-author.

Thanks Graham. A little splash of red always catches my eye.

I have never worried about genre before, but I find I am having to think about it now, in order to figure where to post!

Thanks Matt, for the kind words and for telling me what worked for you on this one.

The good thing about rainy days is the umbrellas.

Thank you Frank, I know your keen eye and that tells me there are some things I did to this one and got by with.
