Last Sunset on Swim-Beach

Post by minniev » Tue Nov 05, 2019 2:58 pm

There was a lot that was going on here, as is typical for the working sites of Monhegan during Trap Week. I tried to simplify. All feedback appreciated.

A well framed image with good subject material minniev.....I feel more work on the horizon is needed...for me it is just too overpowering and completely draws me away from all the other wonderful things in the image.

I agree about the sky. I will have another go at it. The light was changing so fast that I started bracketing images, so I may have to blend a couple to get something.

A lovely scene Minnie. I agree the sky is a little blown out on the left, but I'm sure you have a correction already in store. The boat leading us out to the water to the other boats make for excellent composition.

I am sure you remember all the junk that was along the left side. A major cloning undertaking to test out the new object selection tools in photoshop. And yes, I do have a sky fix if I can get it to work right.

I blended the previously posted version with another capture made about 20 seconds later, when briefly the underside of the cloud structure lit up gold. It's the same sequence where I took the picture of the lone shack against the yellow sky I posted earlier. It didn't last long, but it was the best sky we had the whole time. I got these shots consumed with guilt because everyone else was cleaning the cottage and I sneaked out when I saw what was developing in the sky.

Sneaky, sneaky. I didn't even realize you snuck off. It's a great shot so I'll forgive you. :D

I'm currently sifting through my images deciding on what's going to stock and what I'll be posting here. I've sent three off to Adobe Stock so far. Just waiting for approval.
