Forest Pool - Goldstream Park, Vancouver Island

Post by minniev » Fri Jul 27, 2018 7:43 pm

We came upon this waterfall in while exploring a campground in the rainforest in late afternoon when the light had turned golden. It required navigating 300 steps down a steep slope, which doubled while going back up. As soon as we got to the bottom we were joined by several large families as busy as my own, so it was not this quiet for long.

Any ideas or suggestions appreciated, from general to specific. I don't have this kind of greenery or this kind of water, so it's an experiment when I find such as this.

Minnie, you found a place of magic. Frank, you took the exact opposite approach I took. I hid the light in the pool and I think that was a mistake. For my version I like the way that the light spills into the opening with the water, but I am really digging your bright pool!! I couldn't leave it alone either!!

I like this version too. The light pouring in through the opening in the trees made it such a fairyland sight. Thanks for taking time to play with it. Id have shared a larger file if I’d realized y’all would wanta work on it.

You’re right, Frank found things I didn’t know were in that pool. This one might be a good scene to add one of those mysterious half naked ladies and a unicorn. There was a cute little girl in a red swimsuit in one of the shots, maybe I could give her wings?

I think a little girl in red would look pretty cool. Butterfly wings or not, the red would be a good contrast to the greens. A little girl would be much better than a mean old ogre with his battle axe.

She has her back to us, but here she is. The pool by this point was filled with folks, some of whom were unphotogenic, so I had to leave out most of the pool. It had got a little later so the light wasn't spilling over in the same way it was in the other one.

Well, as soon as you figure it out enough, please share. You clearly know more than I do about it so lack of expertise is not a problem!
