It saddens me to forward the news that our good friend and fellow photographer, Matt Quinn, has passed. As some of you may know, he had been battling cancer for a while and was on his way to recovery. Please take a moment to remember him in your prayers. |

I like it - it's cold blue tones are very much in the mood of winter. And I'm almost always a fan of brighter. Is this one using any texture? Brightening is one of those odd things I sometimes do with textures that sometimes can't be quickly detected but do have a desired effect.

Thanks, Minnie - I just replaced the image with a re-edit, sorry! I was hoping nobody had commented yetminniev wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 5:04 pm

My workflow has gone totally screwy with my new PS Elements 2018 not wanting to talk to Nik. I re-installed, and that made it worse. So now I have to do basic edits, then convert to tif, then open Silver Efex directly. With previous PSE the raw files from my mirrorless cameras weren't compatible with that version of ACR, so I would have to do an additional step by converting to dng. So just different problem, different day

Linda, I really like 1 & 2. Great range of tones with subtle transitions, wonderful contrast, especially in 1 with the sharp focus on the tree. Lines that are smoothly leading the eye without being too obvious (my spinner challenge for this week is Leading Lines so I am alert to them). A dof that is clear but not unrealistic. Well done. Matt

I like it, the color is right, the light is right, the second hurts my eyes a little, but it's what you'd expect on a morning rise.
I can't help to think I've been there, but never so cold! Well done! Are you working on a series? Where was this? S-

Thanks for your comments, Steve! This is the Yakima River Canyon Scenic Byway - the area where my eagles live
