Another beauty Graham. I am jealous that I didn't see this. And I think the monochrome is perfect for the scene, with its mystery and moodiness. It puts shivers down my spine.

Lovely photograph, Graham. You've portrayed a mood quite suitable for the subject.

Thank you Linda. If you are among the stones after all of the other visitors have left it is a quite unsettling place to be.

If there was ever a Graham this is it! I love it, but have to ask, are the shadows from the right from other rocks nearby?

I love the image, really love the image, but would love to see a wider view to get a sense of place. Just me being curious. S-
- And I imagine the answer is yes, but is the science that these are man-placed rather than being natural?

Steve, the shadows were from other people standing near me, I think that they help accentuate the low angle of the sun. And no one will know they are people if we don't tell them ;)

The stones were erected in the bronze age between 2900 and 2600 BC, perhaps even BG... Before Graham

I will try to find a wider angle shot.

Oh, c'mon. Before Graham there was nothing. :D   (By the way, I'm telling the secret of those long shadows!) 8):

Wotta shot! Did I mention that?
