It saddens me to forward the news that our good friend and fellow photographer, Matt Quinn, has passed. As some of you may know, he had been battling cancer for a while and was on his way to recovery. Please take a moment to remember him in your prayers. |

James, I've always found your craftsmanship and imagination astonishing. The really brilliant innovation is using photo paper as a negative. I imagine that you then scan the image, reverse it to a positive, and flip it right way 'round? The long exposures make the paper negatives essentially like what the early guys had to contend with. Seeing the smear of movement in the plants gives great authenticity, almost as if you'd had to hurry to the camera with a wet collodion plate. I truly admire what you do!

Friends call me Chuck.

All the great photographers use cameras! No, really.

I was saddened to hear that Harman was discontinuing their Direct Positive paper. Then elated when they gave to the outraged demand and brought it back. In the interim I found a kickstarter project called Galaxy Hyper Speed. I purchased a pack of 4x5 and played around with it and was reasonably pleased, but as I did not have anything to compare against I just took it at face value.
What papers do you play with and what's your opinions of them?
Thanks
