I like them both. I have gotten some snide remarks on the Other Forum about posting photos of barbed wire, but I think barbed wire is interesting enough in form and texture to include in a composition, even as lead player the way you have here, each telling a different story. I was also told that having the barbed wire in the frame blocked the viewer, but to me, that is the point, and the viewer is forced to look over it just as the photographer did. But the barrier is part of the story.

Thanks Minnie. I agree; barbed wire is a very aggressive barrier. I included the rag because it adds a note of "Hey, stupid" whimsey. The barrier is almost invisible -- something of a paradox -- hence the need to call attention with a rag, in contrast to a toreador's cape. Matt
