We have had a few shark sightings and one shark bite on the cape this summer. The fellow who was bitten was reportedly on shore. I don't know details. It was about two weeks ago in Truro. So, not only is it not safe to get back in the water, you can't even go near it. Pods of seal gather and bask on a few of the islets off shore attracting the great whites. And the beaches on the Atlantic side (we are on the bay side) have shark warning signs and alerts. You see them so often, they become almost routine. Matt
