It saddens me to forward the news that our good friend and fellow photographer, Matt Quinn, has passed. As some of you may know, he had been battling cancer for a while and was on his way to recovery. Please take a moment to remember him in your prayers. |

In the the Shadow Of Longs Peak
I suppose I could call this an architectural landscape but I will settle for "Place"
This particular place is titled "In the Shadow of Longs Peak" nd it recently graced the Front and back cover of The AIMS Review which is the annual literary publication of AIMS Community College in Greeley Colorado. Perhaps not one of my most prestigious publications but one which I was very proud to be selected for. I was the featured artists for the 2016 issue.
I have this image at home printed 24x36 on metallic paper and all I can say is 72 DPI does not do it justice.

Oh lordy. I say that a lot. I say W0w a lot too. I make strange groaning noises and stuff. I am doing all of that and more. Maybe I should look up and list synonyms for "magnificent!"

All the great photographers use cameras! No, really.

No, it sure doesn't, but even at this reduced size it an impressive image. I love the blue mountains in the background.
I like your new ( ? ) logo on the corner.

Thanks guys, this was one of those shots that you see at noon and wait all day to come back and shoot at golden hour. Unfortunately I got sidetracked by a big herd of Elk a couple miles away and was late getting back to this location so I wound up shooting it in the early part of the blue hour at a much higher ISO than I would have liked. Sometimes though I think we all get lucky.
The new logo is something I only use on Wildlife photos but as this was created on a wildlife shoot it would up with the same watermark

I'm sorry I wasn't home when you stopped by, next time I'll put a log in the fireplace and we can sit a spell! S-
