Aw geeeez, these make me sad and glad and mad all at once. Daphne and I made our last road trip through this country in 2015, a partial circle of Lake Superior. They went and ROOoooont my Mighty 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone in Two Harbors!

I understand. If you don't fence them in the vandals will steal the headlight and the bell and the number boards and anything they can wrench off (curse them), but when every static engine has to be fenced it really screws up the photo ops. There are only 3 of these mighty monsters left. One of the others is in Duluth but it's also impossible to get at. I knew they'd fenced the 2-6-0 "3-spot" because it was fenced in 2015.

So! Where's the pitcher of Betty's Pies? (If I haven't mentioned it, our son did his undergrad at UM Duluth, so we spent 4+ years running up from Madison and came to absolutely love the whole region, even in -20 degree winter.)

(I prefer to present pictures in albums because I can put them in specific order.)

I agree, it's sad that they have to have it fenced in. Makes it hard to get a shot that doesn't have too many distractions.

Yep. The pictures I made in 2015 literally cannot be repeated. :x

Perfectly readable (I right-click and open them in a new tab which works well for sharpness). And the pano looks fine to me. The only slight distortion I see is at the very front of the engine where there is some slight elongation, especially of the pilot truck. I think it's great! (OK)

You have quite the Northern Tour going on and I love that you're bringing us with you. Thank you for that! S-
