Yale Peabody Museum

The wife and I took the grandkids to the Yale Peabody Museum in New Haven mid May. I'm just getting to the images now. Here's the first of several more to come.

I love it when people make art out of science. I don't know what this thing is but it bears a resemblance to something I saw a fisherman pull out from beneath the dam today. The deeper area under the spillway has the regular bass and bream, but also a variety of gars, including alligator gars, and oddities like paddlefish.

And some skulls. I took these more for art reference for when someone comes in looking for a cool skull tattoo. Specially the trophies. :D
For the first two I played with split toning and added the color to the image.

This last image I added grain and gave it a less saturated palette. Grain and vignette added for effect.

Of course it wouldn't be a family album without shots of the grandkids...

Terrific set! Especially like the shots of the boys NOT looking at the camera! (OK)

(I prefer to present pictures in albums because I can put them in specific order.)

All the great photographers use cameras! No, really. :|

They're so used to me with a camera it doesn't phase them anymore. When they were little all I was able to get were blurry nose pictures.

Thanks. Yes, we had a great time. Until they started getting tired, that is. :)

Nice set Duck. Looks like a fun place to visit, especially with a camera.

It's interesting, to say the least. Lots of high ISO situations, close quarters, visitors, the typical stuff. I wanted to get some more family pics but the boys wouldn't sit still long enough.
