Who's Watching Who

Post by minniev » Sun Aug 11, 2019 8:36 pm

All comments and suggestions are welcome. The files ain't great, I have never mastered shooting from a rocking boat. It was a puffin trip supposedly, but we saw only a few puffins on puffin island because of this guy and his friends. The eagles don't go over there much but this is hatching season, so they are looking for a tender meal of pufflet. Most puffins went into their burrows to hide. This couple was exchanging looks as if discussing what they should do.

The image of the eagle, sitting there as cool as can be is one I would love to capture !!! The Puffins were hard for me to distinguish what they were because of the foliage, but once I was able to identify them I cold see clearly, (well maybe not clearly), but make the connection. The eagle steals the show thou. Outstanding !!!

Don’t shoot what it looks like. Shoot what it feels like.

Thanks Dave. The eagle was a worse mess when I started with him. PS shake reduction filter made him workable. The puffins might could be cropped even more, but they are such tiny things anyway, I didn't press my luck.

Thank ya Frank. I hope one day I will see a puffin close up enough to get a nice shot. I've been on 3 tours but have never found good enough weather that they would try to land the boat and let us off. Always too rough.
