A Sunday Visitor

Post by minniev » Wed Jun 20, 2018 10:16 pm

As my son and his girlfriend were leaving Sallis, she got all stuttery and her voice went up an octave: "there's something moving...long...hanging down...it's on the swing... I THINK ITS A SNAKE".

And it was. This fellow was huge. He's triple folded himself as he shimmied up the thick old chains that support my porch swing, apparently trying to gain purchase on the ceiling to rob the phoebe's nest. I chased him off with a broom and he went back under the house where he belongs, a hired killer who keeps the mice down.

If anyone can think of anything artistic I could do with him, say so, I found him very interesting and in an uncommon pose.

That's determination.

Does your son play the piccolo? PS could do wonders with a little snake charming on your porch.

Or maybe steal something from Stock. Matt

yikes is right! Glad they didn't sit on the swing. Take an artistic shot of an indoor hanging light and replace the chain with this fellow.

Turn pic upside down, and place """FOOD""" on the floor
Sallis?? What is that?
Snake dangerous, poisonous?
Snakes over here are deadly. Many will run away from you, but some will get aggressive and attack.

I have been trying to think of an appropriate composite with him. Yours is an interesting idea. I'd also thought of compositing a happy shot of folks casually sitting in the swing with this one, as if they are oblivious to him. The grandsons might enjoy that.

The food I think he was aiming to get was the phoebe who had a new nest on the porch post, I could use that with your idea.

Not poisonous. He likes eggs, birds, but isn't venomous. We have copperheads a plenty and they are to be reckoned differently with. Rat snakes, black runners, coachwhips, and so forth are helpful to keep down pests.
