Two from this morning

Post by LindaShorey » Thu Feb 15, 2018 10:24 pm

1. An official greeter at McDonald's! I might have to add a reflection of the Golden Arches in my side mirror

2. Redwing blackbird, painting effect. I used to think they were the advanced scouts of spring; now I know they live here year round :)

Thanks for looking!

love them both Linda - that first one is great with action going on in mirror too. You have them well trained. Caught the blackbird singing too!!

Two very different bird images but I like them both a lot. I'm partial to the bird on the mirror though, just because he is so real and cute and close enough that I feel I can touch him. I love the "I haven't had my coffee yet" look on his face.

The red wings are beautiful, another great capture of expression - this one would be good any way you presented it.

Piet, Matt, Minnie - thanks so much! It was fun to see the sparrow land on the mirror within seconds of my turning off the car engine.

For #1 I added a bit selective sharpness via a brush with sharpening tool in Elements, probably only the third time I've used that tool. The sparrow was already well focused on its beak side, a big surprise since was quick shot through dirty window and I was pressed against driver door of my sub-compact car using the camera/lens usually reserved for much more distant subjects :)

I love the second, but I really love the first! I'd love to see it in color, but know you chose this for a reason. Beautiful! S-
