Another from the beach ... and also another great capture Frank !!! Again, I have to question your choice between color vs B&W? I'm sure color would be outstanding as well. A wall hanger for sure.

Thank you Mr. Chinn...probably hogwash but a belief I lean towards is that color can distract from the emotion I try and capture...then again it may sometimes add to it.

Yes I agree, but here lately I'm having difficulty deciding and you know I lean B&W, so I was wondering what your thoughts were because I know you lean towards B&W as well. I do understand and agree that color can distract from the emotion. This one shows a lot of emotion.

I try and am not always successful, emotion is sometimes as elusive as minniev's wind....actually there was not much color in this one to begin with..at least not enough to sway me......thanks again, I am glad it came through.

Another nice expressive portrait. Those eyes just jump out at you! And the facial expression.Like the Longhorn hat touch too. I do like this one in the tones you've chosen, and in monochrome. For my own taste, which you well know, I'd rather have a little more of the background detail. Because I'm all about Stuff In the Frame!. How much of the blur is induced in post? If there is more detail than I see here, I'd blend back in a layer of the unblurred image onto the background on a gradient, reduce opacity and see what it did. Of course what really matters is what you and this little guy like!

Frank, I marvel at how much detail you achieve in a high key image. Noting is lost. Full range of tones. Wizardry.

Now that summer is done, where will you turn?
