Revisiting an old School Exercise

Post by Charles Haacker » Tue Feb 06, 2018 2:35 am

This is pretty silly. Silly, and not pretty. At all. I had this appalling cell-selfie (I was testing the "portrait mode" OH-KAYY?!) that was more-or-less down the middle and it reminded me of (1) how gosh awful old and ill I look, and (2) an exercise we did way back when. We took gosh awful pitchers of each other fairly square to the camera. We were to make 3 8x10 prints. One was left alone. The other two were carefully sliced down the middle of the nose line with a steel ruler and Xacto knife. The two left halves were spliced together, the two right halves were spliced together, everybody got an A and a good laugh. Well, a laugh anyways. So I thought I'd see what would happen if I did it in Photoshop... :wall:

This is the original, just testing the so-called portrait mode in my cell camera that blurs the background like a REAL Camera (I'd prefer if it blurred the face)...

On the Waterfront! I actually wouldn't mind looking this healthy...

good gosh@! The symmetry twins look the devil and angel on your shoulders (clearly one eats better than the other). Character is never present in perfection. The true you has character.

Interesting exercise Chuck. Would this be a suggestion for us to try as well?

I hadn't thought of that, Dave, but of course anyone can do it, and hilarity is very apt to ensue.

This is pretty silly.
Well, you made me smile on an unsmiling day, so that's power!

Is Chuck a burly bar bouncer or a space alien? If we ever get a pM meet-up, we'll find out for sure! Fun project, and thanks for sharing your fun results.

Your original is a little skewed, but ironically I've read your left side is your best side and you've shifted that way naturally. Neat! S-

The image is skewed a little to the side so the Left weren't right... LAF
