These are wonderful, mysterious, moody portraits with your usual perfect light management and that signature processing. If this is practice, the real thing ought to be pretty amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Ernst,

Thank you. More beauty. Like living on chocolate.

A question: as I look at #1 over and over, I am drawn to the right forehead and am puzzled by what looks like a bump. It's the shadows, I know, not something physical on her head. But I am wondering whether that is in your original and why you chose to show it that way? Once I see it, I can't not see it. It might be the monitor on my MacBook Air. Thanks. Matt

Thanks everyone for the comments.

Matt, It's some of her hair. I generally give all my females a hair cut, getting rid of stray hairs, etc. Here I left it alone. ;-)

I think we've come to expect a certain level of beauty if your work, but this is Wow! I'm not sure if it's the use of a short depth of field, post-processing, or both, but there's a deep intimacy here that makes you feel she is right there staring at you, like you can touch her, and yet you know you can't. It's intriguing and inviting, soft and beautiful. The closeup is really well done!

The humbled second is what prompted me to work outside the lines, to see what can be. Thank you for that! S-
