I showed up early to the last dress rehearsal for this years Nutcracker. These young ladies were practicing.

This is a wonderful and artful image that caught me off guard - I was, of course, expecting the traditional full length shots, and had to smile when I found the surprising but utterly effective sans-heads dancers, with their positioned torsos, numbers taking the place of faces. Great use of tone and light, as always.

Thanks all for the comments.

As to the lighting here, they were on stage and the lighting is what it is. What I was looking for was to just catch a moment.

Nothing much to add to this. It's been said.

Comment reminds me of Bob Holmes and his work.
Gonna try it out when I go to the art museum. Sit in a quiet spot and wait for the scene to appear.
