Mother & Her Daughters

Postby Ernst-Ulrich Schafer » Thu Oct 12, 2017 5:53 am

I met Ruth on a local community facebook page and found her to be a very intelligent, powerful women. A few months back she announced that she had terminal cancer. I reach out
to her and invite her to my studio for a portrait. What a lovely lady and her daughters are just stunning!!!

So beautiful and sad Ernst.
Thanks for reminding us that pictures are about people and not just subjects.
Lovely lighting as usual. I like the "X" pattern in the light tone areas that bring you back to the centre.

Heart aching. Heartbreaking. I almost skipped commenting because this is so quintessentially human. This is a picture that this family will treasure for generations yet unborn. Incredibly beautiful work, Ernst!
Friends call me Chuck. :photo: This link takes you to my Flickr albums. Please click on any album to scroll through it.
(I prefer to present pictures in albums because I can put them in specific order.)

All the great photographers use cameras! No, really. :|

Ernst, I find the hands exceptionally expressive, in the context. Not wanting to let go. Holding on, holding on. To the first face they saw. Sad, beautiful and loving.

Received Lenswork Seeing in Sixes today. You should submit next year. I expect to see you in the 2018 edition.
