Ella, the spotted cat

Post by Matt Quinn » Thu Feb 15, 2018 1:30 am

While I was waiting for my chocolate malt in one of my favorite ice cream parlors, I noticed this young lady at the other end of the window counter. When I spoke with her and asked to take her photo, I also asked her name and about the decorations on her face. She explained that she thought her spirit animal was the wolf but one of her teachers suggested she was more like a spotted cat. So, to celebrate Valentine's Day, she made herself up as close to a spotted cat as she knew how. Matt

Thanks Piet. I don't know why I didn't do all of them in b&w, so I went back. Here are they are. Matt

I suck with B/W - don't know how to put it into words, but I am always astounded by how B/W of people in particular captures the person's essence in a way that the color shot never does. I am guessing that most color is just useless noise, unless the color is used strategically in some fashion, it doesn't help. Yet I almost always am reluctant to give up the color...

I worship Ernst's work. If only we could study with him. But I believe I am beyond help even from him. Matt
