WesternGuy wrote:Eric, nice shots, particularly the landscapes. I am curious though as to where the colours come from in the last one, because I am not quite sure what I am looking at, but the colours intrigue me.

Thank you. The last shot is taken over a sandy tidal flat which has a sea grass edge. There is a shallow sandbar in the bottom of pic.
Thanks Eric. That helps very much in understanding the setting of the image.

You only get one sunrise and one sunset a day, and you only get so many days on the planet. A good photographer does the math and doesn't waste either. - Galen Rowell
week 6/52 Been a delay due to unfortunate circumstances. Firstly the dreaded annual leave was thrust upon me so I had to pack up and leave this delicious winter for warmer turf. This image from the 1st day in Fiji arrived with 2 flat batteries in my 5dmkiii and no charger. iso800, f7.1, 1/100s
Week 6/52 Musket Cove, Plantation Island, Fiji. Taken in the middle of the day went B&W due too lack of interest in the colours in the midday sun. Dreaming about moving into this accommodation full time. iso100, f9, 1/250s
While on the Jetty theme this is one which gets done regular as it is where my folks live. Spotted the light on the water. Patches of glass really gave it a nice feel. Was hoping for a spectacular sunset. This place has really turned it on over the 40 years they have been there. Wasn't to be for Week 8/52. iso200, f4, 1/500s, @105mm
Week 9/52 Almost caught up. Seems my camera is getting used most days could have gone in the 365day challenge. Some times these ranges just need to be captured even if your doing 110km/hr. Just before sunset the Golden hour makes all the valleys and ridges pop. Will have to slow down one day and do this properly. Chose 1/30s to get the speed blur as if panning camera was securely held to prevent and shake let the car do the rest. Iso250, f9, @24mm
Ok so after 2 blocks of night shift and annual leave done for another year I have finally caught up. Took this one today after a surf. Wanted to freeze the wave in this image as it pitched top to bottom. Taken in the early afternoon with bright sun and clear sky's so processed to B&W. Iso400, f9, 1/1000s, @200mm.
