I had never even made an attempt at blurring that water before. Someone asked me why not, and I didn't have an answer.

I do like this, but am continually distracted by the foreground water. If it were mine... which I assuredly know it isn’t... I’d crop that foreground water a-l-m-o-s-t to the waterline with th heron’s pier. For me that makes it a far more coherent composition and more comfortable (for me) to view.minniev wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 5:17 pmThis week's theme is slow exposure. So the day our snowmageddon started, before the roads were closed, I went to the dam to see what was happening and tried to see how slow I could go handheld with my heaviest lens. My tripod is broken, and they don't do any good at the dam anyway. I learned that I could get as slow as 1/4 second with the 50-200 fully extended. It was enough to smooth out the water some. I can't see any advantage to smooth it completely though.

This week's theme is Bottles. I have interesting old bottles at the country house but not here at home, and have been snowbound for a week. All I could find was bottled water and my favorite "Ice" drinks. I settled for the latter.
This morning I did find my grandfather's old whiskey bottle so I'm gonna play with that and see what it may yield. But for now, here's the "Ice".
