Darn it, I forgot I was supposed to post one on texture blending. I got on a binge with a prompt like that and made a ton of them. Here's a couple I didn't post on my 52 site. Fresh from the dam, from the local botanical garden last weekend.

The wee BIF among those impressive edges and masses that confine its airspace has a rivetting effect on me. Is that a tern? It’s delicate sleightness amongst the imposing masses that seem to enclose its world —- really gets me - in the gut!minniev wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 2:36 amWell, I made it through Covid Year with the 52 project against all odds, and I only cheated once. So I'm gonna give it another try this year. The themes are assigned on a list that has already been published on the 52 project Facebook site. I was glad to see a couple of you there! We tried to make the list Covid friendly since we don't know how long we will be homebound this time around.
The first theme is "Simple". Well that isn't so simple for me since I like having the whole kitchen sink in every picture. I went to the dam looking for a single bird, and found a bit of gold fog and some migratory gulls, so here's the result. I liked that he made his own shadow on the fog, I hadn't noticed that they did that before.
Yep! IMPACT!

Yes, the terns are here for winter and boy are they unhappy about the turn our weather took. They are cursing the tern travel agent who booked them for this snowbird gig. Temperatures of 8 degrees F, snow, sleet - they might as well have stayed home.uuglypher wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 7:48 pm

Love the Tern and the massive structures - it is a place that Conan the barbarian would explore.

This week's theme is slow exposure. So the day our snowmageddon started, before the roads were closed, I went to the dam to see what was happening and tried to see how slow I could go handheld with my heaviest lens. My tripod is broken, and they don't do any good at the dam anyway. I learned that I could get as slow as 1/4 second with the 50-200 fully extended. It was enough to smooth out the water some. I can't see any advantage to smooth it completely though.
