Project 52Piet's 2020 52 Birds

The goal of Project 52 is to take a photo a week. This is an easier pace than the Project 365.

week 3 - (well a little early, but it is bird 3 anyway) - Nuthatch - every nutcase needs a nuthatch to be able to escape to!!

week 4 - 4 when I get into trouble cause there aren't any birds around - a drab titmouse that is now on the edge of garish.

Like 'em both... although the titmouse looks like it's about to come out of it's feathers from anxiety about being photographed....

These are wonderful. They’re great captures, full of expression, and you’re moved them from bird photos to art.

Good one. Absolute sharpness is over rated. Drama outweighs Technical challenges. Impact rules.

hi Min - thanks. I agree, I think we have trained ourselves to think that detail is more important than mood or emotion. I am not fully satisfied with it, I wish for greater drawing/painting skills - someday I am coming back to this one.

It is inherent from hanging out in (some) photography forums where sharpness is the only goal, and the chase for more of it fuels endless purchases of cameras that guarantee more of it. How many images have you looked at that were sharp but boring? The classical artists we most admire were not so much the ones who could paint a bowl of peaches that looked like a photograph, but those who created a bowl of peaches that made you want to touch or taste them.

My 8 yr old grandson says he paints what something feels like. For Christmas I got him this book
