This week's theme "Silly"

Since there is nothing sillier than a first grade boy, I asked Jack to help with this assignment. He had discovered cat-tails Saturday, so he thought up an idea and posed for the original.

The title is "What Happens When You Eat A Cat-Tail Thinking It Was A Corn Dog"

Thanks Dave. I love putting the kids in charge and seeing what they can come up with, then adding what I think up in post.

Theme: Water Drops

We were encouraged to try water drop set up photography if we hadn't before, so I did two - one with microscopic water drops found on a teeny tiny web with an odd teeny tiny spider that I could not see until I got her in the macro lens. Then today I played shamelessly with water drops. Apparently you need off camera flash, which is impossible for me since I can't find any flash at all, so I did what I could with a sandwich bag filled with water tied to a gooseneck lamp dripping into a glass bowl with a flashlight shining on it.

Had you not mentioned water drops I would have just thought of #2 as a spider shot..#1 is just full of impact minnev, well done..a black spot upper center seems to draw my eye a bit

Yeah, well, maybe I stretched the water drops theme a little on the spider! but I promise they are there, no bigger than the sharp end of a pin.

I wasn't sure about getting rid of the black dot, since it is the next water drop coming, but I agree it looks odd.

Theme - Imagination

Oh my, that's dangerous for me.

I came up with two, and neither is fully developed, which is one reason I kept switching back and forth, dissatisfied. All suggestions appreciated, re lighting, dodge/burn, blending, etc.

The first is a scene from Iceland which I shot, peopled with characters I pilfered from John Bauer's great Icelandic folklore artwork from 1913. The second is another dambird concoction, with the princess summoning the palace guards. They've arrived, still wet and dripping water on the castle floor, to do her bidding.
