Thanks. Ever the experiment.

The 52 project just makes me do stuff I wouldn't normally do, and sometimes I learn something from it or find something I didn't expect.

I could not shoot any photos this week and am not sure when I can. So instead, I am posting an image of my dear companion and best friend for 11 years, who died Saturday in my arms, totally unexpectedly. My heart is broken. When those we love die, both human and animal, we relive every other loss. Grief has its own path, and I'll adjust, but not quite yet.

Thank you. I am pretty sure you know how deeply and irrationally we can love our four legged friends, and how devastating it is to lose one,
especially unexpectedly.

I'll give you that "deeply" and "devastating" part. I have to disagree about "irrationally" however. Ultimately, that is the price we pay for opening ourselves up to the right and proper thing.

My assignment this week was "red". Well, you never know how little there is to photograph in winter that's red until you start looking for it. Tromping through the swamp yesterday I spotted one red leaf, and had to wade through some muck to get to it, but I was determined. Otherwise I'd have to photograph some of my own red clothing items pilfered from the throw-away box I got from my son's rental storage unit.

Well captured and processed. Depth, tone and lighting are spot on, IMO. The textured layer is a plus Minnie !!!
