It saddens me to forward the news that our good friend and fellow photographer, Matt Quinn, has passed.
As some of you may know, he had been battling cancer for a while and was on his way to recovery.
Please take a moment to remember him in your prayers.

Well framed and presented image minniev...good capture of a wonderful expression, I know you take what you can get with images like these but a nitpik would be wanting to see slightly more of his right side face, ie. a step or two to your left...I know you had to crouch down at least an inch or two to get this great perspective....they grow up so quick.

My assignment this week was "red". Well, you never know how little there is to photograph in winter that's red until you start looking for it. Tromping through the swamp yesterday I spotted one red leaf, and had to wade through some muck to get to it, but I was determined. Otherwise I'd have to photograph some of my own red clothing items pilfered from the throw-away box I got from my son's rental storage unit.

really nice - Amongst other things, I am liking the contrast between cool and warm, with the shadow of the leaf taking on a coolness which separates it.

That twirl in the leaf made that happen I think.

Theme - Rustic

All of you have seen several failed versions of the piece of rusty farm equipment that sits in my yard. I am still trying to figure out what to do with it. It's too heavy to move, and there's too much stuff in any direction to isolate it. So this time I tried abstracting it and going to an artistic composite that doesn't have much detail. Added chicken wire and a random scrap.

It's a nice piece that seems to well done minniev..I find it pleasant and it keeps me looking for a bit but the numbers draw too much focus away from the implement for me.
