Condolences Minnie !!! The story behind this image is very interesting and I'm sure one that will be remembered and talked about for some time. I love the image, the colors, window and cake all are inviting to see and to eat. The lighting is spot on for the occasion to show off this lovely image.
Dave
Thank you Dave. You and Frank are persuading me to like it better than I did.

Sorry to learn about the sudden death. Always painful.

Love the photo, the light, the scene, and the marvelous counterpoint of the still life of a traveling cake. Genius.

Matt
Thanks Matt. Maybe a story of persistence. But the scene is a magnet for me. It is the image of the sun coming through this window that has stuck in my mind for a lifetime, and connected me to this old house, drew me back to it, and now lets me live in it again and share it with my children and grandchildren. So I'll keep on trying.

Sometimes we're up sometimes down and it's never easy but that's why we do it.

My condolences and love the cake story! The image is amazing! S-

Thank you. As you know, the light coming through the kitchen windows in the morning is wonderful, I am amazed by it every morning I spend there.

So I’m at my Other House and the Wheel tells me I must do Cinematic look which sounds interesting but I have sketchy internet that won’t let me watch the video about doing this look in LR and I don’t have PS. The screen image under the video is about toning which is possible in LR so I tried it with this old country church I found a few miles back in the swamp yesterday. I’ll study this more at home.

Coming Home -
This week the wheel gave me Blue Hour - so I took this shot after sunset, when things turned blue just before they went entirely dark. Shot with auto ISO to let the blue show. Someone walks down to the shut the gate every night when we're in the country, so I took my camera this night, and shot this. Whether it shows or not, there is something welcoming and warm about coming home in the dark and seeing the warm light in whatever room I left lit. I left this one quite dark but could brighten it. I've fought down some of the noise by adding a watercolor layer and blending it in.
