I think we have a lot less snow here and rarely in the amount we recently had. The longest an snow has remained on the ground since I have lived here was four days. Some years we barely even get a flurry or two.

Thanks! I love the beauty of new fallen snow, something that does not happen often here in the amount that recently fell. But, I think we have now turned the corner for spring so will now go walking in the woods to seek out wild flowers. BTW, I love that you changed your avatar! The other was certainly more fitting of an Onslow character (we do get old Brit Coms on public TV here), but the new one is infinitely more flattering!

Thanks, Pete! Would be too much for me, too, if it stayed around more than a day or two.

Week 10 - A few more

The weather finally improved enough that I managed to go back and check on the eagle nest. The baby (or babies) are getting quite big. I had hoped to catch a parent at the nest. One eventually flew by and perched in a nearby pine tree out of sight and stayed there for over an hour. I had already been there a couple of hours, the sky had become overcast, so gave up and went home.

Week 10 (March 12 - March 18, 2015)

The weather has been gorgeous, almost hot some days, so Otis and I went on a walk through the woods down to the creek. He was on the lookout for small furry critters to chase and I was looking for early spring wildflowers. All the photos this week are of those wildflowers except for the 1st one which is a crocus from my garden and the 2nd one which is a wildflower but with something extra

Nice shots Martha. I hope to go hunting for new vegetation this weekend too. Not sure we've had warm weather long enough yet.

Thanks, Tom. I wasn't sure I would find any either. I checked the dates when I photo'd wildflowers in the past and it was usually about a week later. But things have just seemed to popped-up everywhere overnight here.
