Matt's Project 52: A Year in B&W
#52-37: A Patient Tree: Waiting for Summer

I am getting ahead with my posting, but suspect events will slow me down sometime soon. Taken at a parking lot on Cape Cod Bay; had the place to myself. Even the gulls had gone. Matt

The beach in winter always has a lonely dramatic feel. Good capture.

Rail cars, tracks, stations, bridges, are all rich sources of images. Nice graphic look to this one.

Another nice image in your Winter Beach series. The footprints are especially interesting

#52-33: Doorknob

Afternoon sun through a western window. Matt

Love this kind of doorknob, and you did it justice with the light, the angle, the aperture, and the processing.

Matt, this one has unexplainable appeal to me. I may never be able to put my finger on it, and it really doesn't matter, other than I like it very much. Nice job !!!

Thanks Dave. When I saw the scene, I thought of some Japanese prints I have seen and wanted to move toward that. I have been emailing back and forth offline with another pMer about b&w photos and how to expose properly. I wasn't able here to fully try his recommendations on placing elements in the zone system; I was running late and the cold was bone-chilling in the on-shore wind. My camera doesn't have spot metering, only center-weighted, so I have to fiddle and juggle, and in the cold, I lose patience and just shoot. I will keep on keeping one. Thanks for your encouragement.
BTW, at someone's recommendation, I forget who, I have joined hotshoe and saw your commendations from last year. Well done. Matt

Thanks Minnie. I didn't realize I was in a series, but your are right to point that out. Now I will pay more attention. Matt

Thanks Minnie. When I saw the image on my computer screen, I thought I should have included more of the cab, but I guess the hint is enough. Mattd
