Steve, Thanks. When I speak to students at an annual awards banquet -- another story for another time -- I always tell a very short story. Here's a recent one:

"A photograph is a story. About a story. The more it tells you, the less you know. (Diane Arbus)

"We grow old and we realize there are no answers. Just stories. (Garrison Keeler, Prairie Home Companion.)

"Take pictures."

#52-26: Forgotten treasures from my dresser drawer

Been cabined today; winter storm. So, I decided to get ahead of myself because I suspect I will eventually get behind.

The watch, I believe, was bought by my late brother in England; the tag has "American" written on it. The coin is from the 1890s; liberty head, the size of a nickel. No idea what the key is to; the Salem cross is from Salem, MA, bought at the Salem Cross Inn where I proposed to my wife, a treasure true and unforgotten.

#52-27: Sunlight indoors

Still stranded inside. Planning ahead for weeks where I will miss posting, so here is one for two weeks from now, if I am keeping count correctly.

I love both these for different reasons. The first displays your gift for integrating shape and design with story, like your mall series did. The second is simply a magnet, pulling our eyes down the road towards whatever is in the light at the end of the road.

Stay with us Matt. You inspire us. In those weeks where you think you may not be with us, I hope you'll find a way. When all else fails - Remember that phone!

Thank you, Minnie. We go to Boston tomorrow for a follow-up visit with the ortho doctor when we will learn what happens next, if anything other than the slow wait while the shoulder heals on its own. Maureen improves daily, a little at a time, with small successes in movement and slight decreases in pain which, we are told, will last for another week or two. She is learning to eat left handed. But she has yet to learn patience. Who does?

I have become clever in snatching photo moments between errands and tasks. Always learning and adapting. Another 52 B&W on the way shortly. Matt

Apologies for the dust and the botched attempt at using the brush to sweep it away. Sigh!
