Project 365 Guidelines

Postby Duck » Thu Dec 11, 2014 12:19 am

Please read and follow these simple guidelines for a successful project

  1. When you start a project please title the post with your name and a brief description of the project. This will make it easier for others to track your project. Some title suggestions are;
    • UserName's Project 365
    • UserName's Year in Review
    • UserName's walk through the visual landscape
  2. It helps visitors to keep track of your progress if you number your images. Specially if there are several postings between image posts.
    • Continuous count; 1, 2, 3... or 1/365, 2/365, 3/365...
    • Groupings; Days 1-5, Days 6-7 ...
  3. THIS FORUM ACCEPTS IMAGES UP TO NC17 Tasteful and Artistic topless and bare butts allowed. If you intend to post anything above a PG13 rated image in your 365 please mark the title NSFW so people know what they can expect.

Why do a Project 365?

The Project 365 is designed to inspire you into capturing a minimum of one photo a day. By undertaking Project 365 you are fostering your creative nature, exercising your technical abilities and reinforcing self discipline. This self-appointed task encourages you to keep your eyes open to every potential photo opportunity. Keeping your camera at hand allows you to indulge, for that brief moment, in something you enjoy.

Some simple tips to keep in mind
  • Everything is fair game: Work, family, play, vacation, anywhere you happen to be offers a possibility for a great image. Carry your camera everywhere.
  • Mind the content: We are going to allow images up to NC17 RATING in this Forum. No vulgar, lewd or pornographic images. Label your post title with NC17 so people are aware of the contents.
  • Experiment: While you should keep good photography rules in mind (composition, exposure, etc.) give yourself the freedom to experiment. Your goal is to explore the medium.
  • Life happens: The reality of life is that we can't always take a photo a day. If it lags, make up for it the next day (or the next). You also don't need to post every day. Group them by every other day or by the week. This is not a commitment to us, but to yourself. If you find you can't maintain the project drop it until you can get back to it.
  • Take notes: Write a little blurb about each image posted. This will become a form of journal or diary for you.
  • Reward yourself at the end: Take all these great shots and written notes and put them together into a keepsake album. With on-demand publishing, crafting a memory book is easy.

Hi, I am new here....got invited by Tom.
I have a 365 that I am about to finish up this coming week. I could add it here if you think that is okay, or maybe it is too late. I don't plan on doing another one for a while though :D

365 projects are self imposed. They are, in simple terms, "an excuse to play with the camera". Most of us here are fairly attached to our cameras so a 365 is not that difficult a task. However, if you don't feel like committing to this type of project then consider either a Project 52 or just take a hiatus from them until you are ready. These boards are here for you when you are ready.

Welcome to photoMENTORIS. We look forward to your participation here.
