Re: claw - rework

practiced some photoshop trying to clean up an old image and add some color and mood, hope I didn't mess it up too badly, but had fun - super villain look. clawS.jpg Yes, you found some Mood there Piet. Your villainous insects are scary but beautiful. Something about the way you use light and the c...

Re: Peacock Moon

flowerlike symmetry, I like the contrast. If you are going to try out a skunk, a long lens is recommended! Well done on this, abstract, but I was able to recognize it, good subject for black/white.

Re: 5 tips for finishing your New Year's resolutions

I'm glad that David bumped this - these tips are outstanding. The only thing I would add is "don't be too hard on yourself" if "you are willing to keep chipping away at it". The things we pick for such resolutions by definition are very hard to accomplish. If they were easy, we w...

Re: Because skulls are cool

I will add my rambling drool to the craft/art pool. Craftsmanship is having good technique - regardless of media. Doing a job and doing it well. Art is based on that craftsmanship and to me, can not exist without it. Art has a chance of surfacing when the craftsmanship is running on automatic, and w...

Re: 'Stranger in Town'

really, really like the B/W treatment and the character that you bring out. I'm glad to see the before image to give me an idea what you started with - the wall like background works well. One thing that is bugging me (I could be all wet) is that he looks like he might be blind. I am thinking bright...

Re: around the house

thank you much Linda and Frank - I feel STUCK though... I honestly do not think you should feel "stuck." What you have is style. A very distinct and distinctive style. Min called it: Piet-dark-drama style. No reason to change it unless you choose to. :) You guys have a deep kindness. With...

Re: claw - rework

thanks Dave, Chuck - it is an old shell I found hanging on a leaf a year or two ago, of a Cicada. I am playing with the idea of painting or placing eyes on the face area... we'll see if I do that in a couple of days.

Re: Cross Over the Chautauqua Bridge

I like it - for me, keeping the far edge of the bridge a little sharper is needed. I like the dreamy look with the rich greens and dark shadows. Painter (I think) is a next to impossible program to come to grips with - you have my admiration and respect! The ropes are very interesting - it might be...
