I have found nothing on the fabric except drawing courses teaching about how to draw folds. So I attempted to use lights and darks to show where the folds occur in the model. I used a soft brush and did the best I could hoping that the form/shape of the folds would help sell the material as some typ...

I like his long skinny face and the munching story with the detail of the grass. A regret would be that you didn't capture the beast in portrait form - perhaps still, cropping to that might help, or square anyway cutting out the left.
