Re: Monthly Masters' Discussion - JMW Turner's "Snowstorm" - Let's Talk About Water and Light

I love these surreal type images. Turner is without question my favorite artist - bar none. I am surprised that he is English, not Dutch. LOL. In this image you get sucked into the center. I think he had himself tied to the mast of a ship during a storm once. The fragmentation and tilting on the sa...

Re: wooly vulture head

Learning a lot, a LONG ways to go, the rest of my life for sure!! flapperLast.jpg Eh... Maybe. You've come quite far in just a very short time. It already looks like you picked up a few tools to take advantage of moving forward. That's pretty awesome. LOL - your quote about learning something new e...

Re: Soccer

I like the bright colors, it gives a sense of action. Love your low POV, but worry that you will take a ball to the camera lens. I hope/assume you have a long lens here - LOL. Very cool you caught the one fellow up in the air, definitely a sense of motion and action. Power line and fence detract, pe...

Re: wooly vulture head

you are absolutely right about the framing... Also, I will look at each and every layer to see what ...

Re: wooly vulture head

Wow, what a MAJOR difference. Much clearer in the intended subject. The art strokes are better defined adding to the hand crafted feel of the illustration. I'm not sure about the framing with the bird facing into the corner, but that's a personal choice. Your experimentation is definitely working o...

Re: wooly vulture head

a little better now... the action wants Background and a layer called "ga" that you paint (with a round brush) the mask that you would like the changes to occur to. So I blurred the image, unblurred head and beak via a mask, merged down, created the "ga" layer and ran the soft colored pencil action....

Re: wooly vulture head

I am really enjoying these actions, they are bringing me into a deeper PS comfort zone. Awesome! Can't wait to see what you come up with. The nice thing about these kinds of actions is that you can really push your typical image editing beyond what you would normally do simply because you will be d...

Re: A failed photo

I'm with Chuck, crop away the bottom half. I think you have a nice shot here, it is very cool. I can see why you ran for the camera, you are seeing what needs to be looked at.
