Re: Wild Rose in a midsummer day

Hi All Just playing with images of a short trip and felt good about this one, which I present to my superior peers. RBorud I feel like I'm a fairy-sized creature who's fallen into a faceted vase of water and roses. You can come up with some creative ways to shape elements in your photos that would ...

Re: "Ferry Project"

Early morning Ferry Crossing yesterday. More good ones Ernst! I love the ferry series, and will definitely have my camera in hand tomorrow when I'm on a ferry for the first time in a year - up your way but not your ferry. Will be crossing from Vancouver on the Tsawwassen ferry in the afternoon, hea...

Re: A Rework

I've reworked an image taken at the beginning of the year. While mentally wandering around the processing procedures I use, I came up with an idea. If we can expose/develop Zonally, why not "print" using the same methods of controlling the Zonal levels of the image. Instead of brightening/darkening...

Re: Canna Whimsy - Fingerwork #4

I love hidden treasures and surprises. I look at the image and say - "blurred/textured flower, yellows and oranges". Then I say, "nice clock". And then, "OMG, she is looking at me! - she is beautiful". Love how she peaks out of the blue into the yellow. The notes on the right side strike me as an a...

Canna Whimsy - Fingerwork #4

This started out on the ipad, with a texture added there to emulate a painted surface. Then it went to PS, where a Victorian lady wandered in off an old postcard, added a couple of textures and some unbirds, and because I'm running out of time before I leave for my trip, I threw in a clock. I'm alwa...

Re: Blueberries - Fingerwork #3

Not sure about how to place the hatching across that spot, but will figure out something to try. The great thing about working in PS is keeping your layers intact so you can go back and revisit just one particular element without having to retrace very step. edit>transform to stretch that entire ha...

Re: Blueberries - Fingerwork #3

stunning, beautiful work - I love these textures and colors. This is what Macro photography should be all about, to be able to see detail, but to see that detail presented with grace and beauty. One thing that might help - Frank expressed the size difference - Rotate the image 90 degrees counter cl...

Re: Blueberries - Fingerwork #3

I didn't make comment in showcase even though I didn't think you'd mind just because it was showcase.....I find no issue with the bright spot or screen....what does jump out at me is the foreground blueberries size, for me reducing the size would seem more balanced....or maybe enlarging the others,...

Re: Cloud storage recommendation

I have a RAID arrangement to store and back up my files, but I don't have a cloud account. I have over 140K photos and don't want to lose them. I had a total, once-in-a-lifetime failure of a RAID arrangement about 10 years ago and it was an expensive enterprise to have the drives restored. (BTW, th...

Re: Before_engagement

This one is a good one too, but he looks as sad here as he is joyous in the other. In this one he reminds me of a character in Lord of the Rings, worried about the coming battle at Mordor. Well taken, great detail, I don't have any suggestions for improvement as I don't see anything really wrong. It...
